Mrs. Thompson and Teddy

Mrs. Thompson is a teacher of elementary school. As a common teacher, she said to all of her student that she loved them all the same. It was a lie. There was a little boy with messy clothes and unpleasant habit sat in the front row named Teddy. Mrs. Thompson just didn’t realize that actually Teddy was a smart student before until his parent died. After reviewing her file, she found a fact that Teddy in the first grade is a good one and have good manner but accidentally he became worst year by year because of his mother’s death. Mrs. Thompson realized the problem and she feel shy of herself. She tried to encourage Teddy and it worked. Month by month, Teddy got well and the end of the year, he became one of the smartest child in the class. Until pass the college, Teddy didn’t forget to Mrs. Thompson and said that she’s the best teacher he ever has. He thanked to Mrs. Thompson for believing him, making him feel important and showing him that he could make a difference. Mrs. Thompson said that Teddy was wrong because the one who taught her that I could make a difference is Teddy actually.
This story is really touching actually, if I were Mrs. Thompson, I’ll do the same to encourage my pupil to be better. As Mrs. Thompson said that she loved her pupil all the same. We all know that it was a lie but why Mrs. Thompson is still doing that because our pupil will feel that as their teacher, we’ll teach them all the same. It helps so much in learning process. If student feel that they are distinguished, it’ll make learning process don’t work well. In the first time I teach, I’ll so as same as Mrs. Thompson did. Then, I’ll directly do review to my entire pupil. Even though it’ll waste my time but I need to do that to know the growth of each student. It needs to do because I realize that every student has different character and each student has different ability so that it’ll help me to treat, teach and educate them.
Teddy has a bad situation in that time. The situation changed Teddy’s attitude and manner. It’s teacher responsibility to make Teddy different and get well. If I were Mrs. Thompson, I’ll do the same to encourage him to be better. I’ll get him get his confidence to struggle to live. As a teacher, we should have known our student characteristic so we can help them if they look like have a bad characteristic. Like Teddy, at first he thought that his life is useless and he didn’t have any spirit to live. He did anything without thinking whether it was good or bad. As a teacher, we should change that mindset that life is still a life as long as we are still breathing. Our God have already given a life to us and we must appreciate it with doing good thing in our life so that our life is useful for us and all people around us.
